Installing Bathroom Accessories

Stage 18

Installing bathroom accessories onto tiles can be tricky.

We always recommend putting up the accessories and determining the positions after all the plumbing has been installed to give you a clearer perspective. Once you have determined all the positioning, proceed to mark them out with a pencil. Of course you will need to make sure all the fittings are installed level.

Now the tools you will need are –

  • Hammer
  • Cordless drill
  • Ramset 6mm green plugs
  • Pencil
  • Razor knife
  • Diamond drill bit 6mm
  • Spirit Level

Ensure you have the correct drill bits to drill in without cracking or chipping the tile. For this reason we recommend the diamond drill bit, generally in the 6mm diameter.

Make sure you don’t use the hammer option on the drill as this can easily break the tile.

Start drilling out the marked out holes and proceed to insert the plugs. Once all the brackets are installed, you can generally tighten the accessories with an Allen key from below.

Few things to keep in mind when installing accessories is the functionality. For example, make sure you are sitting on the toilet when you mark out the toilet roll holder. Your main focus is functionality whilst keeping aesthetics in mind.
